New York China Visa Service
The People’s Republic of China was established on
October 1, 1949, with Beijing as its capital city. With well
over 1.3 billion citizens, China is the world's most populous
country and the third largest country in the world in terms
of territory. China is undergoing rapid, profound economic
and social change and development. Political power remains
centralized in the Chinese Communist Party. Modern tourist
facilities are available in major cities, but many facilities
in smaller provincial cities and rural areas are frequently
below international standards.
New York covers 54,556 square miles (141,299 km²) and
ranks as the 27th largest state by size.[4] The Great Appalachian
Valley dominates eastern New York, while Lake Champlain is
the chief northern feature of the valley, which also includes
the Hudson River flowing southward to the Atlantic Ocean.
The rugged Adirondack Mountains, with vast tracts of wilderness,
lie west of the valley. Most of the southern part of the state
is on the Allegheny plateau, which rises from the southeast
to the Catskill Mountains.
